Pianist, Cameron Roberts, performs throughout the UK, Europe and Australia as a soloist and chamber player. He frequently plays with the world's finest instrumentalists, including, most recently, Jacques Zoon, Emmanuel Pahud, János Bálint, Felix Renggli, Rebecca Chan, Kristian Chong and the Plural Ensemble (contemporary music).
In Australia, he studied with Mack Jost (Scotch College), Ronald Farren-Price (Melbourne University) and Michael Kieran Harvey (Australian National Academy). He furthered his training on scholarhips in London, Moscow, and the Tanglewood Music Festival, Boston. For many years, he taught at the prestigious Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, Madrid. |
He has recorded several acclaimed albums, including Goldberg Variations and Original Transcriptions (2006), Original Piano Transcriptions (2009), Rare Cello Transcriptions with Beate Altenburg, (2011), Spanish Fire with castanet virtuoso Deanna Blacher (2011), The 3 Brahms Violin (Flute) Sonatas with Jacques Zoon (2016) and, recently, Australian music with Derek Jones in Flute Perspectives 2 (2020). A new solo album, Finding Bach, will be released in 2023.
Dr Roberts is also a sought after teacher and lecturer on the application of science to elite-performance piano technique, motor skills optimisation and injury prevention – topics in which he holds a PhD, a medical degree and has written a book (Optimising Pianism – pending publication). www.cameronroberts.com.au ![]()

Over the years, Cameron Roberts has been a member of many different contemporary music ensembles, including Plural Ensemble, Dead Horse Ensemble, and with members of Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM). He was winner of the inaugural Michael Kieran Harvey Piano Scholarship (2006) for furthering the venture of Australian piano music into the 21st Century. Several of his works have been performed and recorded internationally, including a recording of Sad Bird Blues (2008) by Australian pianist Ashley Hribar, and 'Nursery Rhyme Rhapsody' (2016) for flute and piano, commissioned and premiered by Jacques Zoon. Cameron's piano transcriptions have also featured in the Australian film, Lucky Miles (2007) and, most recently, in Litterae (2015) by Spanish director Jesús Villalta Lora.
