Australian pianist Cameron Roberts performs throughout the UK, Europe and Australia as a soloist and chamber player. He frequently plays with the world's finest instrumentalists, including, most recently, Jacques Zoon, Emmanuel Pahud, Francisco López, Rebecca Chan, Sascha Bota, Beate Altenburg and Plural Ensemble.
For many years, Roberts was an associate artist and teacher of chamber music at the Escuela de Música Superior Reina Sofía, Madrid. He has recorded several acclaimed albums, including Goldberg Variations and Original Transcriptions (2006), Original Piano Transcriptions (2009), The 3 Brahms Violin (Flute) Sonatas with Jacques Zoon (Vox Animae, 2016) and, newly released Flute Perspectives 2 (Move, 2020) – an album of Australian flute music with Derek Jones. He currently prepares a solo piano disc, Bach: an intimate portrait. |
As a student, Roberts studied with Mack Jost, Ronald Farren-Price and Michael Kieran Harvey at the Australian Academy of Music. Now, in London, he is also a specialist teacher of elite-performance piano technique, fine-motor skills learning and injury prevention (a topic in which he holds a PhD, a medical degree) and is about to publish a book, 'The Clear-Thinking Pianist'.
